Founded in 2012, e-Zinc is a corporation based in Toronto, Canada that has developed a breakthrough electrochemical technology for storing energy in zinc metal. This affordable, flexible, and long-duration energy storage solution will provide the platform for the world’s energy markets to be fully powered by renewable energy, enabling a zero-carbon energy future. e-Zinc has already completed a $1.5 million commercial feasibility demonstration project awarded by the Government of Canada through Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC). e-Zinc has recently raised a significant amount of equity and won several non-dilutive grants to fund the early commercialization of its technology.
“Replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy is a critical milestone to achieve our deep decarbonization goals. The only way we get to the levels of renewable energy penetration we need is by coupling this with long-duration energy storage”.
