Founded in 2007 in Akron OH, Echogen is empowering global decarbonization through waste heat recovery, long duration energy storage, and highly efficient power cycles for industries such as hydrogen, nuclear, concentrated solar power, biomass, and geothermal. Echogen is a leader in the development of sCO2 power system technology, with the only commercialized sCO2 power cycles in the world. Echogen has developed, built, and tested a 7.3MW sCO2 waste heat recovery application and commercially licensed the technology. Echogen’s pumped thermal energy storage technology will enable a 100% renewable based electrical grid.
“The transition to a carbon-free energy system is only achievable with a commitment to long duration energy storage. The work of this Council is critical to accelerating the deployment and lasting impact of a breadth of technologies to address our existential climate crisis.”
