Playing the long-duration storage game
Last week, the UK Government published its response to its consultation on Designing a policy framework to enable investment in long duration electricity storage.
LDES Council’s Director of Policy and Partnerships Alex Campbell joined Sam Morgan on The Jolt to discuss how new policy could boost the British energy storage sector.
“We need long duration energy storage because, as we all know, we’re deploying more and more renewables, which means more and more variability in the supply of our electricity. So we need to store energy for longer to keep the lights on, provide energy security and to decarbonise,” said Campbell.
